Pilot Project: Learning for a Sustainable Society

In this project, Swedish science centres Universeum and Teknikens Hus will try to developed and tested new methods to cooperate with schools within a cross curriculum theme, "a sustainable society”. It was envisaged that teachers and pupils work with the theme over a longer period of time.

Methodology

  • Educators from the science centres work closely with schools  - both teachers and pupils -  to develop content and methodologies
  • Teacher support was given, with teacher training if needed.

Outputs

Impact
The goal was to provide teachers with functional models to work with different science topics, in collaboration with science centres.

Evaluation strategy
Questionnaires and interviews to be carried out with target users.

The basic idea is to create experiences that increase young people’s desire to enhance their knowledge and to become actively involved with the natural sciences, technology, and environmental awareness. b) Teknikens Hus, Luleå, Sweden
