Historical works by famous researchers in maths

The German "Electronic Research Archive for Mathematics" (ERAM) project for the digitisation of mathematical publications has won a prize from the section of physics, astronomy and mathematics of the American "Special Libraries Association". It offers original work by famous scientists via its digital library.

The State University Library of Lower Saxony of Goettingen (Niedersächsische Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Göttingen) together with the Technical University of Berlin and the publishers of MATH,- the world's most complete and longest running abstracting and reviewing service in pure and applied mathematics - are cooperating on this project.  They have now "opened" the digital library to the public.

You can see and download facsimiles of many historical publications. Among the documents are the original works of Carl Friedrich Gauß, a professorial dissertation by Bernhard Riemann and Emmy Noether's university dissertation.
