Fit for maths at university
The University of Hannover in Germany has started a cooperation programme with schools called Uni:fit.
It enables students to join intensive courses in mathematics.
The courses will start on Monday, August 29 till to Friday, September 16 2005 at the UniKIK Department of Hannover University. The aim of the programme is to give support to students for the mathematical needs of their scientific studies.
The registration for the courses starts on August 1 2005.
Up to 60% of students fail in mathematics during their first semester at university. This programme will seek to address this problem.
