Plant Trees for Environment
The Environment Online (ENO) opens the school year in a special way: schools around the world are invited to plant trees at midday on 21 September. Through the tree planting the ENO wants to remind schools about the nature and the importance of environmental protection.
The first trees will be planted at noon in Oceania, followed by Asia, Europe and Africa. At last the chain of trees will reach Americas.
In September 2008 about 2000 schools in 122 countries planted 300 000 trees around ENO Tree Planting Day. This year the aim is to get 10 000 schools in 160 countries to join the event.
Registration deadline is 15 September 2009.
