PhysicsTeachers@CERN2006

You are a physics teacher and would like to keep up-to-date with research in modern physics? CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research which is the world's largest particle physics centre, is organising a 3-day residential programme from 24-26 November 2006.

Why attend the conference?
PhysicsTeachers@CERN is the name of a three-day conference delivered in English for high school teachers. Designed to provide a valuable experience, the aim of the conference is to give physics teachers new insights into contemporary particle physics.
It is a great opportunity to meet colleagues from all over Europe and experience a dynamic, international environment.

Conference Programme
The residential programme starts on Friday 24 November at 9am and ends on Sunday 26 November at 1 pm.
It includes seminars (on particle physics and cosmology), visits (to an experimental hall and an experimental facility) as well as educational activities.

How to take part?
The conference is open to physics teachers from all CERN member states. Applications should be addressed to education-officer@cern.ch. Selected participants will be offered the conference fee, the on-site accommodation and all meals. They will be expected to pay their own travel costs.

A full programme and further information about the conference can be found here.
