FOSDEM 2007 to be held on 24 and 25 February 2007
The seventh Free and Open source Software Developers' European Meeting
(FOSDEM) will be held in Brussels, Belgium, on 24 and 25 February 2007.
This 2 day-event, organised by volunteers, aims to promote the widespread use of Free and Open Source software.
Organised for the community and by the community, FOSDEM is a free and non-commercial event. It is intended to provide Free and Open Source developers and communities a place to:
- meet and network with other developers and projects,
- get informed about the latest developments in the Free and Open Source community,
- attend interesting talks and presentations by Free and Open Source project leaders and committers on various topics,
- and promote the development and the benefits of Free and Open Source solutions.
Participation and attendance will be totally free of charge.
On Xplora, Open Source is a reliable source for science education. In fact, the Xplora DVD is made of Open Source software and Open Content information. This is the reason why we think it might be a good idea for science educators with computer science background to get in contact with the organisers of the conference, who will possibly develop the applications that science teachers need.
