eLA 2007 - The International Conference on ICT for Development Education and Training

From 28-30 May 2007, the 2nd International Conference on ICT for Development Education and Training will be held in Nairobi, Kenya, under the Patronage of the Kenyan Minister for Education, Science and Technology. Meeting the partnership needs of the Pan-African eLearning and distance education sector, the annual eLearning Africa conference is the key networking place for experts and professionals from Africa and all over the world.

This important event, which represents a real melting pot for discussing and debating, offers an opportunity for an increasingly large and diversified public to come and meet and discuss with international personalities. It therefore enables participants to develop multinational and cross-industry contacts and partnerships, as well as to enhance their knowledge, expertise, and abilities.

Due to its success -the 2006 event having attracted 832 participants from 80 countries representing all continents- it has been decided to hold this conference annually.
Delivered in English and French, the event addresses nineteen themes, covering all aspects of technology enhanced education and training. Research in eLearning; Setting up and Implementing a Sustainable eLearning Project; Introducing eLearning to the School System; or eLearning in African Corporations are among them.

The event includes plenary sessions and special focus sessions with world-class experts, practical demonstrations, debates on specific topics, workshops, product launches, exhibitions, best practice showcases as well as various informal networking opportunities.
All proposals, suggestions and ideas for the conference agenda are welcomed.
