Inspire pilot projects in MST teaching start

The Inspire pilot projects to develop and experiment new teaching methods in maths, science and technology (MST) have started. Pilot schools in Spain, Italy, Germany, Austria and Lithuania will implement MST learning objects provided on the Inspire website (http://inspire.eun.org) in their science lessons during the next ten months. Also teachers not participating in Inspire are welcome to use the website and report the use of Learning Objects via the Inspire forms.

All the learning objects are reachable via the Inspire website launched during the teachers’ training meeting in the end of August in Brussels. The training session was an occasion for the national coordinators to meet and discuss about the Inspire Protocol of Experimentation and the EU strategy in education in general. They also got a chance for more hands-on training when going through the website and all the Learning Objects which will be used by the teachers in their lessons.

On 16-17 October the Austrian Inspire team got together in Vienna during the National Network-Conference of EU Projects (NAtionale Netzwerk-Konferenz der EU Projekte, Wissenskonferenz und Arbeitstagung: KickOff Inspire). During the two-day event, projects the Austrian Ministry of Education (BM:UKK) is involved in like COSMOS, InLOT and Organic.Edunet, were presented. European Schoolnet also presented EUN and some of its MST projects like Xperimania, Futurenergia, Stella, Xplora and eTwinning to more than 40 Austrian teachers. Inspire took a more prominent position in the Conference schedule with the presentation of the project and explanation of the different tasks for the participating schools and teachers.
