Essediquadro http://sd2.itd.ge.cnr.it/foreign.php,
is an online service that provides comprehensive, up-to-date information on educational software from both Italy and abroad. We also offer support and guidance for integrating software and multimedia into the teaching and learning process.
WHO RUNS IT?
Essediquadro is run by the Institute for Educational Technology (ITD) under the auspices of Italy’s Ministry of Education, University and Research.
ITD is located in Genoa, north-west Italy, and is one of the institutes throughout the country that together make up the National Research Council (CNR).
WHO IS IT FOR?
Essediquadro is designed to meet the needs of the Italian-speaking education community. Most users are primary and secondary school teachers in Italy.
WHAT DOES IT OFFER?
At the heart of Essediquadro is a searchable catalogue listing educational software for all school levels and disciplines, with particular attention to special education needs. Other services include subject area software surveys, teaching modules, classroom reports, special open source section, web site guides, and more. The software database also serves as the online catalogue of the Educational Software Library (Biblioteca del Software Didattico), which the Institute has been running in Genoa since 1985.
Please note that Essediquadro does not sell or distribute commercial software products.
